Just a regular person with a doctorate from UMGC. Tech leader, problem solver, advocate for jobs, housing, education & healthcare. Let’s build better — together.
Hi, I’m Hajra Kirmani — a regular person, just like you, who believes in hard work, community, and common-sense solutions. I earned my Doctorate from the University of Maryland Global Campus and have spent my career leading programs that bring real results, especially in technology and innovation.
I’m not a politician or a CEO. I’m someone who listens, learns, and takes action. My focus is on the issues that matter most to families like yours: access to quality education, affordable housing, better job opportunities, and reliable, affordable healthcare.
I believe leadership should be about service — not status. And I’m here to help build systems that work for everyone, not just the few.
I’m not a politician — I’m a person who’s lived the struggles so many of us face. I grew up understanding the value of hard work, and I’ve spent my life pushing through challenges to create a better path forward. Like many working adults, I balanced a full-time career, family responsibilities, and school to earn my Doctorate from the University of Maryland Global Campus. That journey taught me discipline, determination, and the importance of opportunity.
Professionally, I’ve led complex programs across multiple industries, using technology and teamwork to solve problems and improve systems that impact everyday lives. But my experience goes beyond the workplace — I know what it’s like to worry about healthcare costs, job security, or whether your kids will have access to a good education. That’s what drives me. My story isn’t unique — and that’s exactly why I’m running. Because I know how powerful it is when regular people step up, speak out, and lead with heart and purpose.
I’m running for Congress because I believe everyday people deserve a real voice in the decisions that shape our lives. I’m not a career politician — I’m someone who knows what it’s like to work hard, juggle responsibilities, and want more for our families and our future. I’ve spent my career solving complex problems, bringing people together, and getting things done — and now, I want to bring that same energy and common-sense approach to Washington. I’m running to fight for affordable healthcare, good-paying jobs, quality public education, and housing that working families can actually afford. I believe in service over status, action over talk, and building a government that truly works for everyone — not just the well-connected few.
